It’s the richest game in football! The winner earns a spot in the Premier League and an estimated £160m windfall 🤑
Brentford will try to reach the top tier for the first time in their history, while Fulham want an immediate return to the Premier League after getting relegated in 2019..
The Bees finished in third place, ahead of Fulham on goal difference and they also won both their meetings in the Championship this season. Led by head coach Thomas Frank, they play an exciting brand of football and scored the most goals in the league (80 in 46 games).
They also had the second-best defence, conceding just 38 goals. Although their players aren’t super famous, their forwards Said Benrahma, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins have scored 59 goals between them!
Fulham are managed by Scott Parker, who famously played for Charlton and Chelsea. His side is a functional one and features former Premier Leageu players like Anthony Knockaert, Harry Arter, and Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is the Championship’s top scorer with 26 goals.
Mitrovic might be injured though, along with semi-final hero Neeskens Kebano. There don’t seem to be any other injury worries.
Overall, Brentford might just have what it takes to edge this, and make history for themselves!
