The remarkable Kazuyoshi Miura has just signed up for his 35th season as a professional player.
The 52-year old is the game’s oldest pro and will be in the Japanese top flight with Yokohama FC for another season.
Miura played his first competitive game in 1986, for Brazilian team Santos. Over the many years that followed, the evergreen forward was in the original Fifa 96 and is supposed to be appearing in the next version of the game too.
He was top scorer in the Japanese J League in 1993, ahead of Gary Lineker and Zico.
